Your Screenwriting Personality Results...

Before We Get Started…

The results you are about to receive are based on my experience working with hundreds of screenwriters over 20+ years. That said, what you’re receiving is my unscientific opinion, and I’m talking in broad strokes.

Also, keep in mind that we are talking about your screenwriting personality, not your actual personality. My goal is to help you see your strengths and potential weaknesses as a writer.

Explanation Of Your Results

Screenwriting is creative work of a social nature.

That’s why your screenwriting personality has two parts:

  • Your Creative Personality (how you create the work)
  • Your Social Personality (how you collaborate on a team)

Each has advantages and potential disadvantages for you to consider.

Your Creative Personality

Creatively, there are two types of screenwriters:

  • Architects
  • Gardeners
George R.R. Margin

“The architects plan everything ahead of time, like an architect building a house. They know how many rooms are going to be in the house, what kind of roof they’re going to have, where the wires are going to run, what kind of plumbing there’s going to be. They have the whole thing designed and blueprinted out before they even nail the first board up.

The gardeners dig a hole, drop in a seed and water it. They kind of know what seed it is, they know if planted a fantasy seed or mystery seed or whatever. But as the plant comes up and they water it, they don’t know how many branches it’s going to have, they find out as it grows.”

George R.R. Martin

Author of Game of Thrones

Your Social Personality

Socially, there are four types of screenwriters:

  • Intellects (brain-first)
  • Operators (social-first)
  • Heartwarmers (emotion-first)
  • Dynamos (energy-first)
